Register
- All the college teams willing to participate in the event should register online.
- Maximum teams allowed for registration would be 24 (for Singles and Doubles each)
- Registrations will be confirmed based on first come first serve basis.
- Each college team should have a valid college ID proof for participation.
- The aim of the game is to put one's own nine carrommen before one's opponent puts his/her. However, before pocketing one's final coin, Queen must be pocketed and then covered on the same or subsequent strike.
- Fouls, such as crossing the diagonal lines on the board with any part of one's body, or pocketing the striker, will lead to carrommen being returned to the board along with a foul. (Other fouls can be referred at the ICF link given below)
- The player is allowed to shoot with any finger, including the thumb (known as "thumbing" or a "thumb shot"). It will be applicable for both Singles and Doubles Category.
- The player can shoot coins on his/her base line while playing a back shot (thumbing). (This is allowed for both Singles and Doubles)
- The detailed carrom rules can be referred to on the website of International Carrom Federation - ICF (http://www.international-carrom-fed-media-commission.org/laws-of-carrom.htm), the international governing body for carrom.
- All standard rules will apply in SPREE �12, the details of which will be given before the events.

- There will be 4 Categories under which the Carrom Event will be held viz. � Boys� Singles, Boys� Doubles, Girls� Singles and Girls� Doubles.
- Maximum of two players from a same college can register forSingles Category separately and maximum of two teams (with two players each and no player in common in the two teams) can register for Doubles Category. A person representing a college in Singles Category can register for one Doubles Team also.
- So, a college can send minimum 1 player and maximum 6 playersfor Carrom Event. [ 2 for Singles Category separately and 4 for Doubles Category ]. If Girls' team is also sent then maximum would be 12. (6 Boys and 6 Girls) Maximum of 24 teams for Boys� Singles, Boys� Doubles, Girls� Singles and Girls� Doubles each will be allowed for registration.
- Maximum of 24 teams for Boys� Singles, Boys� Doubles, Girls� Singles and Girls� Doubles each will be allowed for registration.
- The teams will be divided into pools in all the Categories.
- 3 matches of 25 points each will be played between two teams for declaring the winner. Best of 3 matches will decide the winner. In the case of a tie at the end of 3rd match, the tie will be broken by playing an extra board (not a complete match) until the tie is broken.
- Points for coins will have the following weightage - 3 for Queen and1 for a White/Black carrom coin.
- Queen count stops from 22 points.
- After the final results, top 3 positions will be rewarded in Boys� Singles Category and top 2 positions will be rewarded in Boys� Doubles Category. Whereas in Girls� Singles, top 2 positions will be rewarded and 1st position in Girls� Doubles will be rewarded.
- The Event Trophy for the Carrom Event would be decided as follows: Whenever a carom match is won by any player of a college, the college will get points according to the phase of the event (league match, quarter final, semi-final or final). After the finals are conducted, the total points of all the colleges would be calculated, and the college with maximum points will be given the Event Trophy.
- All the particpating teams have to bring their own Striker for the Carrom Event. Rest of the accessories will be made available during the event.
- Any queries or discrepancies regarding the rules will be sorted out by the Event Manager and/or the Referee present.
- Any team or player found guilty of misconduct or violating the above rules may be disqualified.
- Mobile phones should be turned off inside the carom hall.

Each college can register for a maximum of 6 members 2 singles and 2 doubles.
Boys and Girls team have to be registered separately.
